1970s Spanking Magazines
Remember the cheesy spanking magazines from the 1970s? The ones with tons of overacting models and almost no actual spanking? This picture from vintage is a classic example of the genre:
I think I need one of those big square paddles, though…
I still have a box or two of those hideous mags.
Bought ’em all in seedy adult bookstores, usually
hastily and without making eye contact with the
derelict clerk. It just goes to show how desperate we were in the 70s–there was not a “lick” of eroticism
in any of them. But between them and the
letters in Mr. Magazine, what else was there. Here
are some of the titles I burned countless $5 bills on:
“Erotic Spanking Fantasies,” “Aching Asses,” “Sting,”
“Clenched Cheeks,” “Burnt Ass,” “Corporal,” “Blistered
Butts,” “Martinet,” and many others. Finally, LDL hired Eve Howard as “Lizzie Bennett” to be editor of “Spank Hard” in the early 80s, and a new era dawned.
Ummmm no, thank you, please. That’s one scary paddle!
I didn’t realise how sad the state of spanking porn was back in those days. A few weeks ago Abel and I acquired a vintage “Janus” magazine (from 1973, would you believe), and it’s like reading about the days when bloodletting was the height of medical knoledge. And there is exactly one series of spanking photos (all black and white, depicting only the girl’s bottom OTK; no faces). There are some bondage pictures, but most of it is semi-nude models in vaguely sexy poses.
Cute… but interesting spanking stuff this is not. OK, it’s interesting to nerds like us, but only in research purposes.
Wow… I also remember that House Of Milan “HOM” made some super looking super 8s. I never actually got to see any of them because I didn’t own a projector. But I do remember one title called “The Debate”, featuring an actress whose name was Pat Manning. I don’t know why I remember that, but I do know it was the first real looking spanking I’d ever seen on display. Her bottom was very red from a severe hand spanking delivered by this geeky looking guy in check pants… Finding anything back then that appeared authentic was rare. Thanks for the blast from the past!
