There is indeed a spanking in this film. Ellen plays Melvyn’s ex, who is trying to get him back even though he’s now remarried to Ruth Hussey. At the end, Ellen’s schemes are revealed, and Melvyn puts her over his knee and begins spanking her. Ruth comes over and says, “Dear! You can’t strike a lady. But I can!” She proceeds to administer the spanking herself.
