The Aesthetics of A Good Set of Marks

In a post entitled “Men!” over at Burblings, Confused writes:

After those 8, he stopped caning me, made a pleased sort of noise, carefully laid the cane across the back of my legs (which made me give a sort-of shocked/stunned gasp), and stood back. So I carefully turned my head and saw him standing there, arms crossed, looking very smug and pleased with himself.

Of course, afterwards, it occured to me that only a man could be that pleased with getting the stripes evenly spaced and seem completely oblivious to the effect he’s having on the canee!

Bethie and I have a version of this conversation from time to time. Her: “What do you mean, it’s cute? It hurts!” Me: “I should hope so, it was supposed to. It’s also extremely cute….” Her: “Doh! You…..”

Men are visual creatures. Visual proof that a good spanking has been delivered is very satisfying. It’s Bethie’s bad luck that I’m sorta color blind — no gentle pink glow gets acknowledged around here!

However, as Baltazar points out, stopping to admire the marks is not a sign that we are oblivious to the effects thereof. Quite the contrary!

I love having marks proof of what I endured.

I must be a bit of a visual creature myself, Spankboss. If I am going to endure an ordeal of pain and suffeing then I want there to be marks to admire and complain about later. :)

    Best Blessings. . .

Of course, I’d be lying if I said I never, ever looked in the mirror afterwards! :)
