Therapeutic Caning

This story went by a couple of weeks ago while I was busy, and by the time I saw it (thanks to the readers who emailed me links!) it was all over the kinky sex blog world. So I never got around to mentioning it. However, I link now to the Moscow News story — Russian Scientists Suggest Caning to Cure Drug Addicts — because there’s a nifty vintage-looking caning photograph as an illustration.

All the stories about this that I saw cited back to a story in Izvestiya — which has gone rather notoriously tabloid in recent years. It’s not quite Weekly World News, but almost. So take the tale with a hunk of rock salt.
