Of Wives And Sticks
In The Decameron (Giovanni Boccaccio, 1353) we read:
Good steed, bad steed, alike need the rowel’s prick,
Good wife, bad wife, alike demand the stick.

I love this bit! I recently found a copy of The Decameron from 1930, with art deco woodcuttings that surely would have been considered pornographic at the time. Unfortunately, this particular passage is left unillustrated in our understanding of it, and I am left with more bare breasts than bare bottoms. Still, I love that you mix the classical with the… um… more modern representations of spankings. I’ve been meaning to say hello for a while, being new to the spanking blog circuit and trying to make my rounds. This was the perfect passage for me to comment on as, ever since I got married, I’ve been demanding the stick quite often. In my case, that’s any one of our growing cane collection.
Great blog! I’m enjoying it immensely.
Best wishes,
Abby
