    So what’s over the birching gal’s head? At first I thought the birch had, like, the tree’s roots attached or it was being held together in, like, a Christmas-tree stand (LOL). But on further review it looks like whatever that is is in the background, hanging on the wall? I agree this is an excellent vintage photo. Love the shuttered eyes of the birchee, the curves of her calves, butt, shoulders and boobs; the classic bench she’s strapped down on; the clenched, counter-balancing fist and the exposed muscular whipping arm and shoulder of the bircher.

    Judging from the wind up, the size of that bundle of birches, and the tension on the face of the soon-to-be repentant miscreant, I can’t help but believe that what followed was quite impressive and severe. I love the recent postings of vintage photos.

    I agree with Maren the look on the spankee’s face is what makes this picture for me. It is that look of resigned anticipation coupled with a slight air of defiance.
