This Amazonian spanking scene is from Blunderbroad #21, credited to Eric Stanton and Turk. As I understand the players and the scene, Cheetah is the woman watching the action. She has a remote control that operates some electrical, er, devices in the stool that Blunderbroad is sitting on as she reluctantly spanks Superchick, her ally.

In Eric Stanton’s famous Blunderbroad comic, which is a BDSM spoof of Wonder Woman featuring lots of catfights and bondage, there’s a scene where the evil villain Sir Dastardly has her helpless in his basement and decides to do a photoshoot. It goes kinda like this:
With the camera on remote, there is the ten-minute whipping while she bends and grabs her ankles, wearing only a maid’s apron. She demonstrates countless devices after that, sore of bottom.
There is the nose-and-tongue clamp. The two knotty-knobby giant pickles, one in each mouth. The Deep Throat gag. The penis gag sealed in with adhesive. Since I seem to be on a bit of an Eric Stanton kick right now, I thought I’d share these two color biographical photos that I found on eBay. (The longer-term-stable Internet Archive link is here.) And here’s the wild thing: remember the Eric Stanton connection to science fiction writer Andrew J. Offutt that I blogged about in December? These photos are said to be from the Offutt estate! The eBay seller writes of that connection:
Stanton and Offutt were not only colleagues who collaborated on hundreds of original works of erotic art and literature, notably “Stantoons” and “Blunder Broad” digests, they were close friends who regularly corresponded through letters, photographs, story and art proofs.
The photo at the top of this post is captures Eric and his wife Brit, posing at a 1980s art or comics convention. Brit’s wearing a pretty kinky outfit (knee-high boots and black spandex). It’s clear she understood Stanton’s tastes, and those of his autograph-seeking fans! As of course she would; per the eBay seller, Brit was a model for some of Stanton’s 1970s femme fetish photography. It’s pretty clear to me that some of his rapidly-drawn big buxom blonde Amazons in Stantoons and elsewhere were modeled after Brit as well.
The other photo captures Eric at his drafting table. The caption “The Dart Broad” presumably refers to the art — a work in progress? — on the easel, which I have blown up from the source photo rather more than is practical. From the limited visible detail, it looks like harem girls chasing somebody, maybe a loose pony girl, who is wearing quite a bit of bondage harness. I can’t find any reference in search engines to “The Dart Broad” but the style looks rather like his loose, rapidly-dashed-off drawings for various storylines in Stantoons. My guess is that the Dart Broad artwork appears somewhere in there:

My mind is blown.
When I was a dirty-minded adolescent, I read pretty much every volume of science fiction and fantasy that fell under my hand. I soon noticed that books by Andrew J. Offutt could with great reliability be counted on to contain one or more wank-worthy kinky scenes: spanking, dungeon interrogation, bondage peril, or amusing combinations of all three. It’s actually been on my Spanking Blog to-do list for a long time to dig up some of those spanking scenes to republish on the blog.
Well, today I learned that Offutt was a prolific writer of erotica under numerous pen names:
Offutt wrote at least 420 pornographic/erotic works under seventeen different pen-names and house-names, including Opal Andrews, “Anonymous,” Joe Brown, John Cleve, Camille Colben, Jack Cory, Jeremy Crebb, P. N. Dedeaux, John Denis, Jeff Douglas, Farrah Fawkes, Baxter Giles, Alan Marshall, Jeff Morehead, J. (John) X. Williams, Turk Winter, and Jeff Woodson. The first was Bondage Babes, published under the name Alan Marshall by Greenleaf in 1968; the first appearance of his principal pen name, John Cleve, was on Slave of the Sudan in 1969.
According to his son Chris Offutt he came to regard Cleve as more a separate persona than a pen name, and his other aliases as Cleve’s pen names, not his own. As “Cleve” he published more than 130 works of erotica before the market for erotica dried up about 1985; afterwards, turning to self-publishing, he issued 260 more as Turk Winter (an early “Cleve” pen name) over the next twenty-five years. Thirty more remained unpublished at the time of his death. So prolific was Offutt in this area that in summing up his writing career his son Chris wrote that he “came to understand that my father had passed as a science-fiction writer while actually pursuing a 50-year career as a pornographer.”
Spanking fans will probably recognize the P. N. Dedeaux name, but the pen name that made me completely lose my shit was Turk Winter. Turk Winter is the writer of the Blunder Broad comic strip drawn by Eric Stanton in his Stantoons magazine. The long-running Blunder Broad strip is incredibly raunchy, though you haven’t seen much of it here since spanking is just one dish on a very large menu of kinks that sometimes appear therein. (It’s also more violent and scatalogical than most of what appears here.) It’s no wonder that, as a very young kinky boy, I recognized Offutt as a reliable source of kink in a world that didn’t have much kink to offer. The man was so kinky, it oozed into everything he did!

I don’t think there’s anybody with a BDSM-related fetish who does not acknowledge a debt to Eric Stanton. His artwork and publications did so much to popularize the fetish world, it’s hard to imagine what kinky life would look like if he had not existed and published. I am personally amazed that nobody has ever put out a definitive reprint collection of his Stantoons fetish magazines, whence appeared his famous Blunderbroad comic strip (a loose Wonder Woman parody) and much other wondrously kinky material.
Although Stanton is arguably most famous in the femdom community, he was catholic in his kinky tastes. Even if your spanking fetish is narrowly restricted to spanked female bottoms, there is a richness of material in the Stanton archives for your enjoyment. For instance, the images of a harsh bondage spanking with a metal yardstick seen in this post comes from a story in Stantoons 44 called “Office Affair” that is primarily a femdom tale.
The secretary seen being spanked here was dallying with her boss; but her boss? He has a dominant wife, who dropped into the office unannounced, and the both of them got busted! The bossman tried a lot of groveling and sniveling, but it didn’t do him any good at all; he got his ass turned bright red in the part of the story not shown, before we ever get to these scenes.
This-here harsh punishment with the steel yardstick is what happens to a secretary who takes long lunches with her boss, accepts his gifts of fancy lingerie, climbs up on his desk to model the aforesaid fancy lingerie, and has the bad luck to get caught in a revealing posture, still on the boss’s desk, when the boss’s wife shows up in the office!

This is a classic Eric Stanton story, and it’s precisely why his legions of fans always loved him. He could mix and match fetishes like nobody before or since! The conventional wisdom in porn these days is that you should pick a fetish and stick with it, but Stanton was always more generous. Even when one of his stories had a primary fetish theme, there were always two or three secondary fetish echoes, so that there would be something for everybody.
